KUNV provides students from all UNLV majors with hands-on learning in broadcasting, journalism, and marketing. Students are afforded opportunities that include performance, production, reporting, and broadcast management.
Public Radio KUNV has a broadcast history of over 40 years in Southern Nevada. Our vision is to solidify our position as premier jazz station locally and globally. KUNV offers a unique training ground, for interns and volunteers to educate them to reach their full broadcasting potential.
While an intern or community volunteer of Public Radio KUNV you are offered either an opportunity during or after college to go behind the microphone. This is an important step in pursuing a radio broadcasting career. As an intern, you’ll experience first-hand how a radio station and operates with underwriting, marketing, social media, talent, hosting, producing and live sports annoucing. This type of practical knowledge, along with a journalism, broadcasting or communications degree, will make you a more attractive job candidate.
